A Family Shattered by War – Help the Ayesh Family Heal

‍♂️ My name is Baha Ayesh, and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart. My family has endured unimaginable pain since October 11, 2024. In a single moment, everything changed — my wife and two young sons were severely injured in a strike that tore through our lives.

Sanad (2 years old)

Sanad suffered a broken leg and second- and third-degree burns covering 25% of his face, hands, and feet. He spent over a month and a half in the burn intensive care unit. He underwent multiple skin graft surgeries and must now wear a facial compression mask. Every single day, he requires physical therapy to regain mobility and reduce scarring.

Kenan (3 years old)

Kenan was also injured that day — a shrapnel fragment lodged between his L4 and L5 vertebrae in his spinal cord. He lost the ability to walk for 15 days. After many therapy sessions, Kenan has miraculously begun walking again. But the fragment remains in his spine — and if his condition worsens, he will require a high-risk surgery to remove it. Until then, he lives with caution, and we monitor his condition monthly.

My Wife, Anoud Suleiman Saleh

Anoud’s injuries were devastating. She underwent multiple abdominal surgeries and has nine shrapnel fragments in her pancreas, liver, and colon.

She also suffered:

-An above-knee amputation of her right leg

-Severe burns from her lower back to her right thumb

-A broken left foot

-Joint injury in her right hand

-Extensive skin grafts on her thigh

-She spent over two months in intensive care, fighting for her life.

We have been displaced more than 11 times since the start of the war. We are currently sheltering in Zawaida, in the south of Gaza, living in a tent after our home — and even one of our tents — were destroyed in the conflict. I have spent the last six months going from hospital to hospital, trying to get treatment for my wife and children.

How You Can Help

We urgently need support for medical care, daily therapy, surgical procedures, medications, and basic living necessities. Every contribution brings us closer to healing and rebuilding what we’ve lost.
